Cardinal is a cross between Flame Tokay and Alphonse Lavallée. This red table grape is grown all over the world: around the Mediterranean and the Black Sea as well as in California. It is vigorous and early-ripening, making it very useful from a commercial standpoint. It is susceptible to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and dead-arm disease The grapes are an attractive color, with a slightly sweet taste.
