This grape variety is the white form of Pinot Noir. It is grown in Alsace. It is a vigorous grape variety with consistent yields. Like Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc is difficult to grow and is susceptible to the same diseases and pests. Its bunches and grapes are small. Pinot Blanc produces lovely, powerful, well-balanced wines, with characteristic fresh grass and hay aromas.
